I was wondering why the racism in Singapore is never properly acknowledged.
Then I realized when your senior minister makes public comments like this, it really isn’t much of a surprise.
So I have this Chinese friend who I’ve known for about 5 years. We were texting today when she suddenly started doing this confession thing about how racist she is. She came out with really condescending and generalizing statements about the Indian and Malay communities in Singapore.
Some of the stuff she said included:
- Would never sit beside an Indian or Malay person in a train or bus. Would rather stand throughout the journey.
- Indians who hang out under void decks deserve to be stereotyped
- All Indian men are smelly and unhygienic
- All Indians are perverts
- All Indians are violent and are prone to abusing their family members in full view of the public (cause she has witnessed something like that twice in her 19 years of life)
Now this is a friend with whom I’ve shared a big part of my teenage life. Sitting beside me in class, joking and laughing tgt, graduating, seen her cry, been there for each other throughout most of our tough times in relationships and in life. And, despite all this, for her to openly discuss with me about how ”disgusting” my race is, that shows me how privileged the majority race is.
I asked her why she was suddenly admitting all this stuff to me and she said it’s because she feels ‘comfortable sharing anything everything with me’. Because I’m a good friend.
Ohh I see. You expect me to be that coloured friend.
Where you can be as big of a racist prick you can be on the outside, but look back and think “Oh hey, I have that coloured friend, who is okay with this! So I can’t be that racist!” to reduce the guilt of being a racist. Nope sorry, fuck you.
I’m not surprised tho. Chinese people in Singapore have probably never had someone come up to them and make racist remarks about their entire race and be expected to agree with those racist remarks. That’s your privilege, folks. Because this happens to us minorities on a daily basis.
Cause this isn’t even the first time that this has happened to me.
Once I was dating a Chinese girl but she never actually seemed comfortable with me. I asked her about it and she said she was actually racist towards Indians and can’t get over the fact that I’m Indian. She even asked me to help her ”cure her racism” by being “less Indian”.
Needless to say, things didn’t end well between us. It’s not our responsibility to make you feel less of a racist. If your mind is filled with shit then you clean that shit yourself.
This is why I lose it when someone tells me “Singapore isn’t that racist actually”, or “Racism isn’t a serious problem in Singapore”. There’s no such thing as a “non-serious” racism problem. There’s only racism, and its a serious problem.

This devil MURDERED a innocent Black teenager in cold blood… This teen’s name was Trayvon Martin, who had left his house in order to get some snacks for his family. A racist murderer named George Zimmerman saw him and saw him as “suspicious” because of his race. After calling the police, he followed the young man and took matters into his own hands by KILLING TRAYVON, who was UNARMED, with nothing on him but some Skittles and a iced tea.
(Hear the audio of the brutal murder here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/16/trayvon-martin-911-audio-_n_1354909.html?ref=black-voices)
This devil is now hiding behind a claim of “self defense”… Don’t fall for that BULLSHIT and don’t let TRAYVON’s DEATH go in VAIN!
JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON MARTIN!
ARREST GEORGE ZIMMERMAN! NOW!

If you fight for women’s rights, then you must also fight for LGBT rights; and if you fight for LGBT rights, then you must fight for African Americans’ rights; and if you fight for African Americans’ rights, then you must fight for Hispanic and Native American and other races’ rights; and if you fight for other races’ rights, then you must fight for Muslims’ rights and Jews’ rights because when we tolerate oppression of one minority, we tolerate oppression of all minorities.
look out for that racist in you.
He was 14 yrs. 6mos. and 5 days old —-and the youngest person executed in the United States in the 20th Century. George Junius Stinney, Jr., [b. 1929 - d. 1944] In a South Carolina prison sixty-six years ago, guards walked a 14-year-old boy, bible tucked under his arm, to the electric chair. At 5’ 1” and 95 pounds, the straps didn’t fit, and an electrode was too big for his leg. The switch was pulled and the adult sized death mask fell from George Stinney’s face. Tears streamed from his eyes. Witnesses recoiled in horror as they watched the youngest person executed in the United States in the past century die.
Now, a community activist is fighting to clear Stinney’s name, saying the young boy couldn’t have killed two girls. George Frierson, a school board member and textile inspector, believes Stinney’s confession was coerced, and that his execution was just another injustice blacks suffered in Southern courtrooms in the first half of the 1900s.

The most frustrating thing about all this is that I’m reading about all the injustice in the world and there is absolutely nothing I can do that will make a significant impact on all this. The feeling of uselessness is getting all too familiar.

Ron Paul
Tumblr’s left-wing hacks won’t reblog this because it doesn’t fit the trite narrative of Ron-Paul-is-a-white-supremacist-lol. Also because they seem to not give a shit about anything that actually matters.
